This 2016 conference is my third Managed Care Conference. I am actually paying for this entire conference, food, air flight and hotel room on my own as my company was unable to this year. I feel so strongly about the importance of attending I chose to fund the experience.

Although I am certified as a CHC, I still learn new ideas in most of the sessions I attend. When choosing the sessions I want to attend, I usually pick the ones that pertain to what is currently most important in my day-to-day job responsibilities. I am the operations manager for External Quaily Review for Qualis Health which is a QIO in many states and in fact touches most states providing Utilization Review. EQR is new for this QIO and I was brought into it to develop the program and in developing the program, I have used what I have learn at these conferences.

My favorite part of the conference is the opening session which always focuses on congressional actions that impact managed care. To be on top with compliance, I really need to know where Congress and CMS are heading because of all the changes in the healthare environment. During this conference, I know I will learn new techniques, make new friends through networking , meet up with friends I have not seen in a while and share experiences with others.

This is a great and challenging time for compliance and program integrity. Thanks HCCA for all of your hard work putting this all together!
