I’ve arrived here at the Aria Hotel in Las Vegas at HCCA’s 20th Annual Compliance Institute, and the number of attendees and the extent of institutions they represent is impressive. As the Affordable Care Act and other more recent healthcare laws and regulations mature, we may find ourselves complacent with how far we’ve come so fast. However, the pace of technological innovation is accelerating faster and faster, creating new tools and ways to improve the speed and efficiency of healthcare. Furthermore, the risks of cyber security create an ever growing demand for new tools and security protocols. Therefore compliance must continue to grow and develop to meet the needs of this new era of compliance. I look forward to this week’s Compliance Institute, and know that the next 20 years of Compliance will look far different from these past 20.
