This week I am attending my first HCCA annual compliance conference. On the first day, I focused on learning about how to assess compliance programs for effectiveness and the roles of leaders and boards. Lots of learnings thus far, and I am thrilled that I got the chance to attend this year. Today, our keynote speakers shared information from the enforcement perspective. It was hard to hear that not all healthcare providers practice ethical leadership. The afternoon sessions look promising too. I hope to learn more about HIPAA issues with mobile texting. Looking forward to an afternoon filled with information.
