Sunday’s Pre-Conference session, “Health Information Privacy and Security Standards” was one of the best sessions I’ve attended in a long time. The three speakers were a great mix of experience and perspectives. I especially appreciated hearing from Ms. Iliana Peters who is a senior advisor for HIPAA compliance at OCR. Hearing from the FTC was also an interesting perspective I hadn’t considered in-depth before.
The only problem with the conference is that there are so many sessions I wanted to attend but can’t be at two places at once. I guess that’s what the recorded sessions are for. This is definitely a conference I will consider attending each year as it really seems to be focused on enforcement.
