HCCA 20th Anniversary Celebration at the Annual Meeting

We have reached another milestone. HCCA (really our profession) is celebrating its 20^th anniversary at the Compliance Institute in April. I look forward to seeing many of you there. We started with a couple of people 20 years ago and now have over 10,000 members. We have thousands of certified compliance professionals. We have helped educate thousands. We have given thousands of compliance professionals the opportunity to be involved in speaking, writing, blogging, etc. Our members have helped this profession evolve effectively.

Thousands have helped us get to where we are. We want to thank every one of you. If we mentioned everyone that helped… this post would be hundreds of pages long. If I don’t mention anyone I will feel guilty. So I will thank one person. Debbie Troklus deserves more recognition than anyone else in our organization/profession. Since the day we started this organization, Debbie has helped. Amongst her many accomplishments, she has helped guide our profession’s certification to a degree of respect none of us could have imagined. No person in the compliance profession has done more to train more compliance professionals or train them more effectively. This is not only true for healthcare but for all industries. She has trained compliance professionals in Singapore, Belgium, Switzerland, Brazil, the UK, United Arab Emirates, Australia, China, and elsewhere. Many organizations other than ours have helped compliance professionals. Many people outside of our organization deserve credit. But no single person on this planet has done more for the profession than Debbie.

Come help Debbie and I celebrate this milestone and this profession in April at the Compliance Institute. She and I will take a few minutes in our opening remarks to recognize our profession’s 20^th anniversary.
