Sunday’s “Star Wars” session was excellent; Ms. Monaghan did not disappoint! Reigning in the breadth of Regulatory change in managed care is a daunting task that presents challenges on a daily basis. The sheer volume of guidance communicating change in our current environment is overwhelming. However, her best practices and approach with leveraging technology was a great example of a “how to” strategy to transition from the traditional approach of death by Excel spreadsheets. The ability to track responses from the business, the reporting abilities that are derived from the source data and the transparency practices that were put into place underscore the importance of a thoughtful solution. Additionally, she did a great job of describing the steps she took to engage stakeholders in participating and getting needed support in moving the needle on compliance. Overall, an excellent session; a much-needed breath of fresh air on how to progress the communication and business engagement on new and revised requirements given our current state of change.
I’m interested in how other organizations are managing the tracking and communication of regulatory changes, particularly when it comes to the publication of large, comprehensive final rules.
